On Dec. 31, 2022, Hong Kong Promotional Event and Press Conference were held at Westin New York prior to the opening ceremony of the New York Times Square countdown celebration. Over 100 guests and dignitaries from the government, diplomatic, business and academic circles, and travel communities of New York joined the event. Ms Candy Nip, director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York (HKETONY), updated participants of the latest developments of Hong Kong, and shared with them a “taste” of Hong Kong by serving culinary delicacies including dim sums, milk tea and cookies at the event. Hong Kong artists also talked about the creative process of the spectacular performance for the countdown opening ceremony that would represent both eastern and western culture to New York Times Square, to usher in 2023.
