Beautiful China Shines at 2020 New Year's Eve Countdown at Times Square

On New Year’s Eve of 2020, the Sino-American Friendship Association co-organized the New Year countdown opening celebration featuring Chinese cultural feast for the 9th consecutive year at Times Square in New York.

Special guests including Ambassador Huang, Ping, Chinese Consul General in New York and representatives from New York City Mayor's Office, Times Square Alliances; Sino-American Friendship Association; China National Tourist Office New York and China Southern Airlines North America attended this year’s celebration.

The ceremony was live broadcasted on Giant LED atop of One Times Square and 6 of other LEDs around Times Square

The opening ceremony was co-hosted by Li Li, the Executive Vice President of the Sino-American Friendship Association, and well-known TV host Jonathan Bennett.

A Chinese folk dance amazed thousands of people at Times Square kicking off the most famous New Year's Eve countdowns in the world. The theme of this 2019-2020 New Year’s Eve Countdown Opening is "Beautiful China, China-Beyond Your Imagination". A video featuring amazing scenery of Huangshan Mountain, also known as the Yellow Mountains, in eastern China, Anhui Province streamed on multiple LED screens including the giant LED atop of One Times Square. The Dancers from China presented a performance showcasing the "China-Beyond Your Imagination" and its Dunhuang culture. From perspectives of culture, art, history and natural landscapes, the opening ceremony represented the love, friendship and prosperity wishing for everyone in 2020.
