Mayor of Chengdu Luo, Qiang met with President Peter Zhang

March 13, 2017, Mayor of Chengdu Luo, Qiang met with the President of the Sino-American Friendship Association, Peter Zhang  to discuss ideas on promoting the city of Chengdu in the United States.

Mr. Luo, Qiang summarized the current position and goal of Chengdu to become one of the nations’ hub cities in China, as well as highlighted the importance of the exchanges between cities in the U.S. and China in order to promote greater diplomacy between the two countries. Currently, the city of Chengdu has been implementing policies and arrangements of the Communist Party Central Committee, the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, and the Provincial Government of Sichuan. It will step up on its efforts to increase the openness of its economy by following the “157” strategies, thereby achieving the goal of becoming a hub city of China. In addition, Luo, Qiang also hoped President Zhang to promote the values of the city.

The Secretary General of Chengdu Municipal Government Zhang, Zhenghong and other officials from Chengdu Municipal Government were also at the meeting.
