2017 World Tourism Cities Federation Los Angeles Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit Comes to a Conclusion

September 19, 2017, Los Angeles – WTCF Los Angeles Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit 2017 was held successfully. The opening ceremony of the summit was hosted by Ernest Wooden Jr., Vice-Chairman of WTCF Council, Pres. and CEO of Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board. With the theme of "Impact of Globalization on World Tourism City Development", the two-day summit attracted over 400 delegates in the world. City mayors and tourism industry executives from 87 cities of 51 countries gathered at the summit to give speeches and discussed the growing impact of world tourism development.

September 20, 2017, the two-day WTCF Los Angeles Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit came to a successful conclusion. Hundreds of guests including mayors of WTCF member cities, principal staff of the WTCF Secretariat, representatives of WTCF city and institutional members, representatives of the tourism industry and mainstream media attended the closing ceremony organized by Sino-American Friendship Association. The ceremony was held in Universal Studios Hollywood, with a red carpet event followed by a welcoming party.

Song, Yu, secretary-General of WTCF and director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism delivers a speech at the closing ceremony

 

The closing ceremony started with a speech from Song, Yu, secretary-General of WTCF and director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism. Song said that with a theme of "Impact of Globalization on World Tourism City Development”, the 2017 summit successfully facilitated in-depth discussions on promoting world tourism and published the LA Declaration of WTCF. He thanked the city of LA and all the guests for their attendance and continuous support. He then presented souvenirs to the representative of LA, Patti MacJennett, senior Vice President of Business Affairs at LA Tourism & Convention Board. MacJennett delivered a speech and expressed her gratitude for the significance of the summit.

MacJennett also presented souvenirs to Song, Yu in return and handed the WTCF flag to Song, Yu, who then passed the flag to Luan, Xin, the Deputy mayor of Qingdao which is going to be the hosting city of Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit of 2018. Luan,  Xin accepted the flag and delivered a speech. After the speech, Luan proposed a toast with the famous Tsingtao beer welcoming everyone to get together in Qingdao in 2018.
