A series of events in New York to promote Chinese Culture

"A Celebration of Chinese Culture" promotion on the center LED screen in Citi Field

 

"Beautiful China Tour • Brilliant Chinese Night" is the theme of the 2015 eighth annual "An Evening of Chinese Culture." The event was held at the New York Mets Citi Field on Saturday, July 25th with the baseball team, bringing Chinese tourists and fans as well as a Chinese cultural performance for the American audience. The series of activities were co-organized by the Sino-American Friendship Association, Cimagine Media Group, Sino-American Culture and Arts Foundation, American Major League Baseball (MLB) New York Mets (New York Mets), and the China National Tourism Office in New York.

As the opening of the eighth "An Evening of Chinese Culture" series of activities, this event will be held again by Sino-American Friendship Association at the Mets Citi Field. During the night of the game, "Beautiful China" tourism promotion video was featured in the middle of the big screen. The Chinese Consulate General in New York, Consul General Zhang, Qiyue, was invited as the guest of honor to give a kickoff of the game. She and the President of the Sino-American Friendship Association, Peter Zhang presented a “US-China Relations Special Contribution Award” to Director Xue, Yaping for supporting the outstanding activities of the China National Tourist Office New York. Additionally, the Consul General Zhang, Qiyue, U.S. Congresswoman Miss Meng, Zhaowen, Director Xue, Yaping, "An Evening of Chinese Culture" event president Margaret Lam, and Li Li, president of Cimagine Media Group and vice president of Sino-American Friendship Association were awarded the "U.S. China Harmonious Contribution Award "by the New York Mets baseball team, in appreciation of their contribution to promoting cultural exchanges between the United States and China.

At the entrance, the organizers handed out Chinese tourism souvenirs and brochures as gifts to the audiences. Many fans appreciated the gifts. Not only did they enjoy the evening and a wonderful game, but also appreciated the opportunity to learn Chinese culture. They all wish to travel to China one day! It is worth mentioning that there were many Chinese fans who came here to attend the "U.S. China Youth International Culture Festival”. They were also invited to "An Evening of Chinese Culture". For most of them, this was their first experience of American professional baseball game and many were thrilled to have this opportunity. After the game, there was an hour exciting performance from the legend rock band Heart.

 

The vice president of Sino-American Friendship Association Li Li said that this year's "An Evening of Chinese Culture" event had a variety of wonderful interpretations in the form of beauty and culture. To promote Chinese culture and beautiful scenery, as well as the cultural exchanges between China and the U.S., they hoped this event would successfully capture American's attention to Chinese tourism. Tourism has become an important part in China-U.S. cultural exchanging. With the theme of "Beautiful China Tour • Brilliant Chinese Night", this event presented beautiful Chinese scenery, rich history and cultural heritage, so that the American people could understand Chinese culture. The eighth consecutive "Evening of Chinese Culture" event had received strong support from the U.S. government and organizations, as well as the congratulations from U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio.
